Things to Know

Packing Tips

You will certainly want to wear a coat, but feel free to leave you ski gear at home.  Average temperatures are between 17 and 27 degrees.

  • Be sure to bring layers.  A warm coat for an outdoor walk and a sweater/shawl for indoor functions are recommended.

  • Remember to wear safe and weather proof shoes/boots.  There will be plenty of snow, so pack your warm socks, boots, gloves and hat to enjoy the fresh outdoors.

  • Prior to travel, please visit The Weather Channel website to view the accurate forecast.

Helpful Tips

Anchorage is a major city with nearly 290,000 residents.  There is a variety of great restaurants, shopping and mountain views within walking distance of our host hotel.

  • Check out the Visit Anchorage website to see the extraordinary things Anchorage has to offer.

  • Consider using an Uber/Lyft instead of renting a vehicle. Parking in downtown Anchorage (near the host hotel) will be limited and difficult.

Fur Rendezvous 2025

The Fur Rendezvous winter festival – known locally as Fur Rondy or “Rondy” – is the nation’s premier winter festival. Since 1935, Rondy has proudly represented the pioneering spirit of Alaskans, offering wild and wacky fun for all ages.

Fur Rondy will take place in downtown Anchorage (just steps away from the host hotel) from Thursday, February 20 to Sunday, March 2, 2025.

For more information, visit the Fur Rondy website so you do not miss out on all the winter festival activities.
