"Distinctive, devoted, delightful, dedicated women of distinction, carrying themselves proud yet humble" ~Paula Mitchell
From the moment they agreed to be the Leader of the Minerva Circle and Conveyer of the Odyssey for Alaska Alumnae’s Spring, 2017 Membership Intake Process (MIT), Soror Sheila Grubbs and Soror Cessilye Williams trooped diligently ahead, Non-Stop! They were DEDICATED to the ideal that Alaska Alumnae Chapter’s Spring 2017 MIT process would be executed encompassing every facet of our virtues. Most importantly, in accordance with the guidelines set forth by our National Office. In other words, in true Delta Sigma Theta Style!
Not only did Sorors Grubbs and Williams continually strive for, exhibit and achieve “Excellence” throughout the Membership Intake Process; from what I have witnessed, with any endeavor they undertake, be it for God, Family, Delta or Community, it is approached with purity and temperance. Both are consistently respectful and encouraging and always make an effort to uplift. Neither is ashamed to admit her mistakes and delivers and accepts constructive feedback in a “Sisterly” manner.
I feel Sorors Grubbs and Williams deserve to be in the Soror Spotlight because both Sorors, by example, efficiently and effectively led the MIT process. Both were very deliberate and timely in communicating and disseminating the appropriate information needed for individual and group success; particularly when it came to conducting the various workshops and activities. Additionally, there was always an environment of inclusiveness and warmth. Not only did they ensure that they were prepared each night, they did everything in their collective power to ensure that the Candidates and all members of the Minerva Circle had everything they needed to achieve “Excellence”. In addition to the work that was witnessed during MIT, Sorors Grubbs and Williams also worked tirelessly in the background to ensure a seamless process. They participated in countless late night meetings, and prep and craft sessions that contributed to the success and aesthetics of MIT.
"EXCELLENT ARE THEY"
